IMPACT OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

 

Training and development are indispensable strategic tools for effective individual and organizational performance. As organizations strive to compete in the global economy, differentiation based on the skills, knowledge, and motivation of their staffs takes on increasing importance day by day. However,  to a recent industry report by the American Society for Training and Development, U.S. organizations alone spend more than $126 billion annually on employee training and development (Paradise, 2007). “Training” refers to a systematic approach to learning and development to improve individual, team, and organizational effectiveness (Goldstein & Ford, 2002).

 


According to Casse and Banahan (2007), the different approaches to training and development need to be explored.

(Oladele Akin, 1991) Presented the tree major approaches to training evaluation which is very important.

IMPACT OF UNTRAINED EMPLOYEES

  If the employee is not well trained, then it can cost you more than their wages.

  It can also lead to loss of your retained customers.

  The profit of your organization will also be effect.

  Untrained employees can bring down the morale in employees.

 


IMPACT OF TRAINED EMPLOYEES

 Due to training and development employees will perform well and deliver as expected.

 Professional and skills of employees enhance the brand image of the organization

 Trained employees will make fewer mistakes which can create customer dissatisfaction

 The service quality will increase and gain the brand value of the company

CONCLUSION

Training and development are very important for every organization. Training and Development should be involved in the strategies of the business. And with using this strategy the employee working activities and business qualities will increase. Employees Training Investment can bring lots of changes in the organization.

    A very important topic of discussion. Training and development are the key stage of an employee who joins the organization and equally it is important for existing employees. Job shadowing, job rotation, case study based training and internships all put together formulate the most effective training menthods and thus identifying the expectations on behalf of the organization is important in order to articulate a specific strategy for the company.
